Madotsuki is the character the player controls through the game. She has brown hair done into twin braids with red hairclips, and an expression only consisting of two closed (or squinted) eyes. She wears a pink long-sleeve sweater with a window-like design consisting of a red border and a 3-by-2 grid pattern of gray and white squares. She also wears a dark purple skirt and bright red shoes.

My theroy is that Madotsuki is not actually a hikkikomori at all, but in fact a sufferer of split personalities, due to some sort of tragic event in her past. She has since recovered mostly, however one extra personality remained, the player. This one comes out while she sleeps, and is the one who lives in Madotsuki's dreams, possibly created due to constant nightmares of the tragic event, AKA the disturbing images. As Madotsuki recovered, her other personalities actually slipped into her subconsious, becoming many of the creatures and possibly effects in the game. Monoko, for example could be the groutesque image she had of herself after the event. Poniko could be who Madotsuki was before the event, or in fact the true Madotsuki. And the Toriningen could be the various doctor's and psychitrists who "imprisoned" the other personalities within her dreams.

Madotsuki's Room is a rectangular room with wooden floorboards and a light-purple wall with a dark-purple baseboard. To the north is a door leading outside of the room, though Madotsuki will simply shake her head when attempting to interact with it in the real world. This may be either due to her being a hikikomori, or because Madotsuki is physically unable to open it. To the south is a sliding door leading to the room's balcony, revealing the room is in a tall building high in the sky. The outside world as seen from the balcony changes depending on the time of day.
