Can you miss an ending in NieR:Automata? ›

The only ending it's possible to miss is Y. If you want to know how to make sure you don't miss it: During part of the fight, a countdown appears. In order to get Ending Y, you have to let the countdown finish; if you kill the boss before then, you can't fight it again and so can't get that ending.

Endings A through E are known as the main endings of the game and require completing the main story at least three times. It's important to note that ending E is the final ending players should aim to unlock, as it gives gamers the option to delete every game save if they choose to become one of the helpers.

According to Emil, she have seen 2B 400 years later. So E is definately the canon ending. Have no idea why someone would say E is a reset because only 2b, 9s and a2 are alive for all Yorha unit.

W is from dying in the intro chapter. the W will always stay there in your save file. A,B,C,D,E are the main endings. F-Z are joke Endings.

Side quests aren't mandatory and once you finish the game on the 3rd route(you're currently on the 2nd as 9S), you will unlock chapter select so you can load that save and use it to go do any side quest in the game.

Accepted Answer. After completing route C (your third playthrough) you will unlock chapter select. That will allow you to go back and replay any part of the game for anything you may have missed - sidequests, weapons, endings, etc.

Nier automata has 26 “endings”, 5 of which are considered most canonical, endings A, B, C, D, and E. Endings A and B are halfway points moreso than full endings, the game does stop there and bring you back to the menu so you can do a new play through once you've seen them.

There are multiple endings to the game, and seeing them all requires multiple playthroughs.
