SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16, 1995 THE GREENVILLE NEWS 9A UPSTATE DEATHS F. Nelson, Spartanburg Retired Maj. William Franklin Nelson, 79, of 3844 Maid Marion Drive, died Dec. 14, 1995. He retired from the U.S.

Army and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Veltman Nelson of the home; three daughters, Linda Andresen of Alexandria, Patti Nelson of Columbia and Annette Nelson of Spartanburg; two sons, William F. Nelson Jr.

of Greenville and Rodney Nelson of Spartanburg; a sister, Ola Mae Arms of Greenville; and five grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Bobo Funeral Chapel, Spartanburg. Burial: 10 a.m. Monday in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

Florence M. Owens, Easley Florence Milner Owens, 88, of 344 Cardinal Drive, died Dec. 15, 1995. She was born in Calhoun County, and was the daughter of the late George and Camilla Wall Milner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Owens.

She retired from Judson Mill after 40 years and was a Baptist. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Bobbie Jean Owens of Easley; four grandsons, Terry R. Owens, Bobby R. Owens, Ronnie D. Owens and Randy Owens, all of Easley; and one great-granddaughter, Casey Paige Owens of Easley.

He was owner and chief executive officer of Joyce Equipment Co. Inc. in Greenville and a member of Laurens First Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Milton Sasser of the home; two sons, Edward Sasser of Laurens and Michael Sasser of Greenville; a daughter, Lynn McCalla of Laurens; two sisters, Irma Savage of Atlanta and Audice Bazemore of Sylvania, and four grandchildren, Adrienne Sasser of Laurens, Tara McCalla of Greenville, Brian McCalla of Laurens and Kelsey Sasser of Greenville.
